Board of Trustees
I graduated from Borger High School in 2001. After graduation, I continued my education at Texas Tech University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and earned my commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. In the USAF, I became an HH-60G pilot, instructor pilot, evaluator pilot, and weapons officer, accumulating over 2100 flight hours, four combat deployments, and achieving the rank of Major. While serving, I also completed my master’s degree in public administration from Pennsylvania State University.
I am the father of four amazing children and Grandpa Hoss to two sweet grandchildren. My three children attend Borger ISD, and I am proud they are Bulldogs.
I have traded in my fight suit for a business suit as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones. I take great care of my clients and serve as the leader for all Edward Jones offices in Borger, Pampa, Dumas, Dalhart, Shamrock, Amarillo, and Canyon.
I am firm in my faith and attend Faith Covenant Church.

I grew up in Fritch and upon graduation in 2003, I attended Oklahoma Baptist University where I received a bachelor's degree in science. My wife (Kara) and I moved back to Borger in 2008, and we have 3 children in the district. I work for Phillips 66 and Kara is a diagnostician for BISD. We attend First Baptist Church where I serve as a deacon and we both volunteer in the children and youth ministries, I was also chairman of the finance committee for 5 years. In my free time, I enjoy coaching youth sports and spending time with my family. I love being a part of this community and I have seen firsthand what we are capable of when everyone comes together and works for the greater good. As a school district we are entrusted with a parent’s greatest accomplishment, which is a responsibility that should never be taken lightly. My goal as a BISD trustee is to provide our teachers, coaches, and staff with the tools that they need to not only help our students succeed in school, but also to prepare them to succeed in life. Borger has a rich history, but I truly believe that the best is still ahead of us.

I grew up in Canyon, Texas, and earned my Mechanical Engineering degree from West Texas A&M University in 2010, which is also where my wife, Blair, and I met. We’ve been married since 2011 and have 4 great children - all of whom are in the Borger ISD school system, ranging from kindergarten to 7th grade during the 25/26 school year. We’ve been active members of an amazing Church, Faith Covenant, since 2013, where we also currently serve as volunteer youth leaders. We both enjoy coaching youth sports and are passionate about investing in the next generation.
I have been the Maintenance Manager for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, Borger Plant, since September 2023, and was at the Phillips 66 Borger Refinery for 12 years prior. Blair began working for Hutchinson County United Way in September of 2023 and is now the Executive Director.
I’m competitive, driven, and very committed to seeing our youth and Borger thrive. I believe the community’s success starts with our students and youth in general, which is where our time, energy, and dollars must have a majority investment – within both the district and the community.
Together, we will succeed - Go Bulldogs!

I am a proud member of the Borger ISD School Board, having served for over 20 years. I grew up in Munday, Texas, and after graduating from high school, I served in the U.S. Army. I graduated from Texas A&M at Commerce, formerly known as East Texas State University. I’ve been a resident of Borger for 44 years. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Shirley, for 51 years. We have 3 children,10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Shirley was an educator for 31 years. The reason I chose to be a school member is because I love children and enjoy being a servant and helping people. I am a member of the Kairos Prison Ministry Team at the Jordan Unit in Pampa, Texas. I am currently a member of Gideons International Borger.

My name is Gabriela B. Small, but everyone calls me Gabby. My family and I moved to Borger in December of 2019, and we’ve truly enjoyed becoming part of this wonderful community. I’ve been married to my husband, Dustin, for 18 years. We have two amazing daughters, Alexis (16) and Kamilah (13), who inspire me every day. I firmly believe that involved parents are key to successful students. That belief drives my passion for volunteering and staying active in both our schools and church. I am a proud member of the BIMS PTA and enjoy supporting educational efforts, however I can. I am also active in our local Catholic church, where I find joy in faith and fellowship. In addition, I help with Circle of Friends, a group that raises funds for cancer patients in our community. Whether through school, church, or local outreach, I strive to make a positive impact wherever I’m needed.
