Superintendent Board of Trustees Business Curriculum Environmental Services Food Services Human Resources Special Education Special Programs Technology Transportation	SCHOOL HEALTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE The role of the School Health Advisory Committee is to offer advice to the Board of Education on issues of health and well being in relation to students, parents, teachers, employees and community members of the Borger Independent School District. SHAC meets annually each school year. SHAC committee members represent a coordinated school health program model consisting of eight components: 1) Health Education, 2) Physical Education, 3) Health Services, 4) Nutrition Services, 5) Counseling, 6) Healthy School Environment, 7) Health Promotion for Staff, 8) Family/Community Involvement. The SHAC committee shared in the responsibility of developing a local wellness policy as required by law for School districts participating in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program. The wellness policy targets four major areas that deal with student wellness and the growing problem of childhood obesity.
